Indeed, it looks like there may be a link between John's nightmarish ordeal and our heroes' distress...question is, if there is a connection, how can Jamie help?

Not really a link so much as it's just a comparison. John's psychic abilities were projecting the thoughts of everyone in the area, so Jamie is suggesting that in those moments, she was able to see the nightmares Clara and Tyler are actually going through.
