Hydrar, they're getting through your strict side. I am positive you will come to understand!

...please?

"The Terrans are coming--which side of their gunsights would you rather be on?"

Here we have both the reason for the First Directive, and the shortcomings of it. Clara and Tyler weren't in danger because of Jamie, they were in danger because of the Patrol's non-interference policy which left the Earth defenseless against a threat they didn't know existed. If Jamie hadn't intervened, Clara and Tyler (and billions of other people) would have been enslaved. If she had abandoned them, the World would have seen the same result--in fact, if she had obeyed any of Hadrar's wishes here, humanity would have been doomed. Hadrar is trying to defend the indefensible. ><

I love how Alvar appeals to logic (like a certain Vulcan), and the angry aura around Hadrar in Panel 3 is absolutely inspired. ^^

Exactly. Though Hydrar's argument here is basically that JJ didn't do her job good enough. That if she had done her job "right", Clara and Tyler would've never gotten attacked and found out to begin with. In the pilot episode, JJ explained to them that technically, she should've kept them locked up and taken them back to HQ with her (presumingly to have their memories wiped or just not come back at all), but she showed sympathy for them instead and let them go. (And keep in mind, this was before her ship blew up and stranded her, so she was probably also banking on no one believing two randos raving about aliens.)

But yeah, this isn't the last time we'll be talking about the semi-flawed nature of the GS's rules. And yes; Alvar is totally the "Spock" of this series. :)

At the rate neon, night spell, power kidz, and Jamie Jupiter are going and not just accounting outerworldly causes but supernatural and self made artificial advances...I I don’t have any arguement! We have to come to terms that the earth has to be ready AT THE VERY LEAST READY...to defend against such nature

And as we've seen from the clips for Infinity War, you can have the greatest team up of people and STILL not be ready for the big bad that's coming....
